Technique de pose du papier peint

Everything you must know about our wallpaper

The wallpaper is presented in a set of 12 sheets. The paper is hand-crafted ; since the sheets are fringed, their size varies (approximately 50x70 cm).

The set of twelve sheets covers approximately 4 m².
The printing of the paper is made according to the Batik technique. A layer of wax is printed along with wood blocks depending on the pattern of the paper. It is dyed afterwards.
The layer of wax is then removed, which gives a slight transparency to the paper. This set of paper can be put up on an entire surface like a classic wallpaper, or you can create your own pattern, placing the sheets as you like: for example, if you want to create a headboard.
The wallpapering is easier since the sheets are put up one after the other and don't need to match.
It is advisable to keep the fringed edges and to see the delimitation of each sheet, these elements are the hallmark of this wallpaper.

Wallpapering

Matériel nécessaire :

Bucket
Size brush
Wallpaper paste
Glue mixer (pieces of wood)
Smoothing tool
Ladder
Sponge
Tape measure

You need to clean the wall first. Then prepare the glue. When the wall is dry, apply the sheet starting by a high angle.

With the brush, apply the glue on the back of the sheet (side on which the pattern is less pronounced). Put up the sheet from the top.

Remove the air between the sheet and the wall with a tool. Smooth from the upper center of the sheet to the left and the right alternatively.

Do it again until you've reached the bottom of the sheet. Then apply this technique to the other sheets.

Once the wallpaper is dry, cut the edges with a utility knife so that they are neat. When you use the sponge the color of the edges changes a little, so that it remains coherent use the slightly wet sponge on the whole surface.

Finally admire your new wallpaper with a warm coffee!
